Equity & Diversity Plan for the Public Sector Workforce 2006–2009

The Equity and Diversity Plan for the Public Sector Workforce 2006–2009 (EDP2) was launched by the Hon. Alan J Carpenter, MLA, in June 2006 continuing the Government’s commitment to "developing an equitable and diverse public sector workforce that is representative of the Western Australian community at all levels of employment and enables employees to combine work and family responsibilities".

The EDP2 sets interim and long-term objectives for priority areas of:

  • Improved distribution of women, particularly in management positions
  • Improved representation at all levels for Indigenous Australians, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people with disabilities
  • Increased representation of youth.

The EDP2 summarises overall achievements since the first plan (2001–2005), outlines Government targets for the five diversity groups and suggests a range of possible strategies that can be used by agencies to assist in achieving the sector-wide objectives.
